Services for Mary Jo Byrd, 97, of Owl Creek are 11:00am Friday, January 26,2024 at Faith Assembly of God Church in Ada. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Stonewall. Visitation will be held Thursday January 25th from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mary Jo went to be with the Lord on January 19,2024. She was born September 28, 1926 to John and Julia Richardson.

Mary Jo resided in Owl Creek near her family. She passed away at her old home place where she grew up and had so many fond memories. Although she never worked outside of the home, she was a tremendously hard-working woman. She helped take care of the ranch and cattle, she would pick pecans, she planted crops all while taking care of her family. Mary Jo faithfully attended church her entire life. She was proud of her family and was the best Granny anyone could ask for.

Mary Jo is survived by her son Jackie Byrd and wife Genevia of Owl Creek, Ok; her two granddaughters Sarah Logan and husband Corey of Owl Creek; LaVonna Chambers and husband Jeff of Owl Creek; and five great grandchildren CJ, Katie and husband Riley, Cole, John and Tamara.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Julia Richards; husband Hoye Byrd; daughter Patricia Byrd, two brothers L.D. and Johnny Dale Richardson and two sisters Addy Bea Brownen and Jessie Lee Sandefur. Mary Jo will be missed deeply by many. Especially by her family.
