Services for James Elton Bolen, Jr., 82, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Chickasaw Community Center in Ada, Wayne Russell and Bonnie Horn will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery near Stonewall. A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at … Mr. Bolen died Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Oklahoma City Heart Hospital. He was born January 28, 1933 east of the Jesse Community to James E. and Edith Clyde Hollingsworth Bolen.
He attended Stonewall and Jones Academy in Hartshorne grade schools and graduated from Chilloco Indian School. He married Virginia Puller on February 4, 1996 at the High Hill Baptist Church in Ada. They were married for 19 years. Mr. Bolen retired from the oilfield industry and also retired from the U. S. Postal Service in Huntington Park, California after 33 years of service. He was a member of the House of Prayer Church and had served in the U. S. Army with the 1st Infantry Division.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia, of the home; his step-children, Jackson Puller, Jr. of Grandview, NM, Mark Puller, Regina Sneed and Rebecca Puller, all of Ada, and Victor Puller of Oklahoma City; a granddaughter whom he reared, Leah Dawn Puller; a sister, Sally Lane Bolen-Harrah of Beckley, WV; his nieces and nephews, Teresa Brown, Blanchard, Gene Brown, Shawnee, Debra Butson, Mannsville, TX, Cindy Smith, Midland-Odessa, TX , Susan Richardson, Artesia, NM , 15 other nieces and nephews; and his dog, Chief.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Joseph Trent Bolen, Colynnann Powell, Nadine Dixon, Melba June Bolen, Troy Bolen and Donald Bolen. Bearers will be Frederick Bolen, Jonathan Sneed, Ethan Puller, Jonah Puller, Jack Walker and Ronnie Alexander. Honorary bearers will be Jackson Puller, Victor Puller, Chester Sneed, Michael Sneed, Mark Puller, Greg Walker and Jackie D. Walker.
