Services for Nancy Carolyn Owens, 75 of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Toney Buck will officiate. Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Owens died Monday, February 27, 2017 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born August 17, 1941 in Ada, Oklahoma to Ira and Jewell Jenkins Luther. At a young age, she and her family moved to California. She attended elementary schools in California and attended Dorsey High School in California. She then married. In 1969, she and her children moved back to Oklahoma. She later married Earl Owens on July 25, 1976 in Ada. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1991 in Ada. Mrs. Owens was a homemaker and housekeeper. She was a member of Homer Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school in 1969 -1970. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Deatherage and her husband Monte, Ada, and Belinda Taylor, Ada; a son, Ricky Standon, Arizona; her grandchildren, Shannon Lopez, Ada, Jeremy Deatherage, Ada, Tim Deatherage and wife Nancy, Pickett, Bobby Taylor and wife Kristen, Oklahoma City, Donald Taylor, Ada, Rachal Dobbs, Ada, Nikki LeeAnn Standon, Travis Standon, Cheyenne Standon, Ada, and Cheneé and Jennifer Standon, Ada;15 great grandchildren; four sisters, Jenny Phillips, Upland, CA, and Sena Brown and her husband Chuck, Lovena Drymond and Pamela Hoggatt, all of Ada; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and two daughters-in-law, Jodi Standon and Emma Wright Bottoms. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, Robert Louis Standon in 1969, Curtis Ray Standon, January 3, 2005, J. C. Bottoms, Jr., December 19, 2007; grandson, Nathan Standon, June 23, 2000, Justin Taylor, February 1982; her mother, Jewell Chesser, May 8, 2008; her father, Ira Luther in 1974; three sisters, Beverly Luther, Doris Gibson and Elizabeth Frazier; and one brother, Raymond Luther; grandparents, Elizabeth Jenkins and James Jenkins; several aunts and uncles. Bearers will be Monte Deatherage, Tim Deatherage, Jeremy Deatherage, Bob Taylor, Dillon Deatherage and Michael Stick.
