Marvin was a man who loved adventure and talking to anyone and everyone. He loved getting to know other people’s stories and sharing his own throughout the years. Marvin Alvin Johnson, age 60, of Caddo Mills, Texas passed away on March 2, 2024 after a hard-fought battle to an illness.

Marvin was born on May 28, 1963 to his beloved parents Henry and Bernice Johnson. He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma alongside his twin brother Marion Johnson. Marvin was a big sports guy who loved playing football in his younger years. There are many stories that he loved to tell of him playing with the neighborhood kids and his siblings. After Marvin graduated from Cedar Hill High school in 1981, he went on to Oklahoma University to study business management.

Marvin met, what he loved to say “The love of his life” in 1991 at the Dallas Indian Arts Festival. Marvin and Lane had an instant connection for each other that will last both of them a lifetime. The love that he had for her was beautiful and so pure.

Marvin has four kids who he always kept dear to his heart. Anywhere he went and whoever he talked to, he was always the proud dad that would brag about what his kids have achieved and where they are going in their future endeavors. He often referred to his kids as his “pride and joy”, and made sure that everyone that heard about them had the same feeling as him.

Although he loved football, powwows, and telling thousands of different stories, his grandchildren had a very special place in his heart. He adored all five of them to no end. Every device that he had, he made sure to keep a photo of each of them on all of the wallpapers that were available to him. Every time he would get a new picture of them, he got a smile that could light up the darkest room. To say that he was a proud papa would be an extreme understatement.

Marvin will always be remembered for his ability to always light up a room and be able to make anyone’s day. We will always remember Marvelous Marvin for coming up with numerous nicknames for every person he encountered, always picking on and teasing people, and constantly yelling “BOOMER SOONER” at anyone he saw wearing Oklahoma Sooner gear. There will never be a day that goes by that we won’t think and miss the best brother, father, papa, and friend that we could ever hope for. His memory will live on in those of hearts who always loved him.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Henry Johnson and Bernice Johnson, and his brother Chateau Johnson, he is survived by his siblings Laquintino “Lucky” Johnson from Oklahoma City, OK, Willam “Beaver” Johnson “Rosalyn Johnson” from Oklahoma City, OK, twin brother Marion Johnson Arlington, TX, sister Couita Nucosee “David Nucosee” Ada, OK, brother Merrill Johnson Ada, OK, sister Nita Clements “David Clements” Chino Hills, CA, brother Neshoba Oklahoma City, OK, his spouse Lane Croxton Caddo Mills, TX, his daughters Mica Maldonado “Matthew Maldonado”, LeAnna Ramos “Jose Ramos”, Lakota Johnson, and his sons Sage Johnson “Kris Johnson”, Cheyenne Johnson “Erin Johnson”, his grandchildren Baylee, Maci, Arya, Berkeley, and Casen.
