Buddy Charles Henley

Services for Buddy Charles Henley, 82, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the High Hill Baptist Church, Rev. Randy Golden will officiate. Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Henley passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Sulphur Veterans Center. He was born December 29, 1935 at Lehigh, Oklahoma to Joel Jackson and Bessie Belle Dobson Hendley. He attended Clarita grade school and graduated from Clarita High School. He also attended Oklahoma Barber College.

He married Maggie Walton July 13, 1966 at Silverton, CO. She preceded him in death December 1, 2001 in Ada. He owned and operated the Buddy Henley Barber Shop for 56 years. He also was a horseman selling and trading horses. He served in the U. S. Army from June 21, 1951 – June 20, 1957, being honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Army Occupation Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Survivors include five daughters, Kim Henley Brashears and husband Mark, Darla Dennis, Sandra Beller and husband Mike, Pattie Howell and Karen Rose Lee, all of Ada; a brother, Billy Joe Hendley of Stonewall; sister, Dollie Harris of Oklahoma City; eleven grandchildren, Taylor Zilem, Jordan Zilem, Wayne Lee, Randy Humphrey, Chris Humphrey, Patrick Dennis, Charissa McCreary, Tia Benham, Misty Miller, Alyssa Wahpekeche and Cyndel Howell; several great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, LaDonna Humphrey; and a sister, Opal James.

Bearers will be Jerry Winters, Luke Neely, Don Woods, Edd Windle, Jeb Bailey and C. W. Pittcock.
