Graveside services for Frances Elizabeth “Betty” Nunes, 83, Fitzhugh, are 2 p.m. Tuesday at East Hill Cemetery at Roff. Rev. Jim Adams will officiate.

Mrs. Nunes died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Heartland Plaza. She was born March 21, 1931, to John N. And Samantha Alford Pryor at Bryson, Texas. She moved to the Fitzhugh area in 1990 from San Jose, California. She attended school in Texas and California and was an executive secretary for Great Oaks Water Company in San Jose until her retirement in 1990. Mrs. Nunes was a member of the Roff United Methodist Church.

She and William D. “Bill” Nunes were married Dec. 8, 1962. He died July 7, 2010.

Survivors include three daughters, Terry A. Elliott and her husband Zack, Fremont, California, Janette M. Counts and her husband Chad, Ada, and Cynthia A. Nunes, Ardmore; her daughter-in-law, Kathy Goodell, Reading, California; six grandchildren, Amber Foster and husband Cody, Brandi Paretti, Sage Counts, Chase Counts and wife Bethany, Lindsey Goodell and Leslie Alcantar and husband Mando; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas G. “Barney” Goodell; and two brothers, Nealer Pryor and Tom Pryor.
