Services for Marie Theresa Morgan, 92, of Fitzhugh are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Fitzhugh First Baptist Church, Pastor Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery at Roff.
Mrs. Morgan passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at her home. She was born March 12, 1927 in New York City, NY to Shelby Kenard and Mary Deegan Robison. Marie graduated from Ada High School and East Central State College in Ada. She also graduated from Draughn’s Business School in Tulsa.
She married Leonard Dayton Morgan April 4, 1947 in Fitzhugh. Mrs. Morgan taught six years in the Fitzhugh School System and 29 years in the Latta School System. Mrs. Morgan was inducted in the National Honor Society Hall of Fame in 1985. She retired from the Latta School System May, 1985.
Mrs. Morgan was a longtime member of Fitzhugh First Baptist Church where she taught the Character Builders Ladies Sunday School Class and played the piano for many, many years. She was devoted to her family and church family.
Mrs. Morgan lived a life of service to others and touched countless lives as a Christian, a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, friend and educator.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard, of the home; two sons, Shelby Morgan and wife Gayle of Roff and Keith Morgan of Roff; a son-in-law, Chuck Brendle, husband of daughter Kathy of Roff; her grandchildren, Scott and Melissa Morgan of Roff, Stacy and Danny Cates of Overland Park, KS, Kristen and Bob Taylor of Blanchard, Kelley and Matt Turner of Roff, Brandon Morgan of Roff and Niki and Joe Gray of Ada; her great-grandchildren, Garrett Morgan, Roff; Audrey and Austin Cates, Overland Park, KS; Breckin and Brendle Taylor, Blanchard; Connor Turner, Roff; and Paisley, Piper and Phinley Gray, Ada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant baby sister, and her beloved daughter, Kathy Morgan Brendle.
Bearers will be her grandsons, Scott Morgan, Danny Cates, Matt Turner, Bob Taylor, Joe Gray, and Brandon Morgan.
