Services for William Gerald “Jerry” King, 82, of Roff are 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Crossway Church in Sulphur, Rev. Steve Wilburn and Rev. Bill Leveridge will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Roff.
Mr. King passed Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born January 6, 1941 at Ada, Oklahoma to Joe Miller and Dorothy Lea Smith King.
Mr. King was self-employed as a Master Carpenter with contractor licenses in plumbing, electrical and HVAC services prior to his retirement. His mathematical skills utilized as a Statistician at the Oklahoma Department of Health aligned masterfully with his building skills. His attention to detail was second to none as he crafted homes for others and his own place.
As skilled as he was, he always practiced humility with a quiet confidence while constructing over 45 custom homes.
Survivors include four sons, Donny King and wife Connie of Bixby, Chad King and wife Becky of Latta, Gregory King of Roff and Jeffery King of Ada; a sister, Cathy Bradford and husband Melvin of Yukon; nine grandchildren, Austin, Darah, Coleman, Tyler, Dillon, Kylee, Conner, Auburn and Samantha; two great-grandchildren, Maverick and Easton; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Joe King; sister, Margaret Ann Sledd; and a granddaughter, Calie King.
Bearers will be Austin King, Coleman King, Conner King, Dillon King, Tyler King and Matt Chatel. Honorary bearers will be Ed Anderson, Don Archer, Don Boatright, Steven Crawford, Randy Jennings, Bill Johnson, Donnie Johnson and John Treat.
