Margaret Marie (Lankford) Higdon
July 10, 1925 - June 11, 2004

Graveside services for Margaret Marie Higdon, 78, Ada, are 2 p.m. Monday at East Hill Cemetery, Roff, the Rev. Tony Folger officiating.

Mrs. Higdon died Friday, June 11, 2004, at a local nursing home. She was born July 10, 1925, at Wilburton to Martin Monroe and Donnie Bell Branson Lankford.

She attended school at Wilburton.

She and John Cecil Higdon were married Aug. 22, 1942, at Ada. He died June 6, 1989, at Ada.

Mrs. Higdon was a homemaker and affiliated with the Baptist church. She was active at the Ada Retirement Center, and was known as the "Door Greeter" for 12 years.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Higdon.

Survivors include two sons, Cecil Lee Higdon and wife Viola, and Clarie Earl Higdon, all of Ada; two daughters, Mary Ann Moore and husband Bill, Texas, and Sheila Christine Hays, Ada; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
