Services for Ronnie Lee Hicks, 71, of Fitzhugh are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery at Roff. The Navy Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Hicks passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Sulphur Veterans Center. He was born July 10, 1945 in Davis to Roy Oscar and Ollie Opal Frantz Hicks. He attended grade school at Dougherty and graduated from Ravia High School. He attended Seminole Junior College and then East Central University in Ada.

He married Nellie Jane Hensley in Gainesville, TX. Mr. Hicks served in the U. S. Navy from May 29, 1963 until being honorably discharged as a Petty Officer, First Class November 10, 1971. He had also worked at Ideal Cement Plant as an electrician. Mr. Hicks was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and served as a National Service Officer and received the Jerry Blackburn Service Officer of the Year Award in 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Jane, of the home; his children, Brad Hicks of Bertram, TX, Suzie Brown of Ada, Ronnie Hicks, Jr. of Ada and Angela Maas of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Bradley, Lynnsey, Nathan, Natilyn, Rylyn, Braelyn, Brendon, Aaron, Jacyee, Colton, Ryan, Lanie, Connor, Ella, Alex Robertson and Wyatt Maass; two sisters, Martha Martin and Reba Moore; and a brother, Donald Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Darrell Hicks and Charles Ray Hicks; and two sisters, Sue Pearce and Betty Ruth Wyatt.

Bearers will be his grandsons.
