Billy Joe Duty

Services for Billy Joe Duty, 84, of Roff are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Steve Wilburn will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Duty passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his home. He was born February 19, 1936 in Pontotoc County to William and Lottie Lorene Griffin Duty. He attended Ada schools and graduated from Ada High School in 1954.

He married Barbara Alexander September 25, 1954 in Stonewall. Mr. Duty was a fuel specialist for the State of Oklahoma Corporation Commission until his retirement. He was a member of the Fitzhugh Baptist Church. Mr. Duty lived in the Roff area for many years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing and spending time with his famly.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, of the home; his children, Teresa Lynn and Wade Duty, both of Sulphur, and Tina Duty of Roff; a sister, Lois Durham, Midwest City; brother, Phillip Duty and wife Barbara, Atoka; two grandchildren, Sidney Lynn of Moore and Preston Lynn of Rogers, AR; and is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Houston Duty; and five sisters, Edna Mae Miller, Virgie Gillispie, Mary Lou Garrett, Martha Baker and Jessie Graham.
