Services for Roy Dale Coplen, 48, Sulphur, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery.

Mr. Coplen died Sunday, November 14, 2010 at a Sulphur hospital. He was born December 4, 1961 at Post, Texas to Raymond and Bessie Garrison Coplen. He attended school in California.

Mr. Coplen had been employed in the oilfield industry and also enjoyed working on cars. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Starla Tate, Ada, and Kara Coplen, Ada; a son, Jesse Coplen, Ada; his mother, Bessie Coplen, Sulphur; five grandchildren, Justin Tate, Jr., Cory Tate, Tyler Tate, Lamya Johnson, and Aubriana Coplen; a sister, Tawana Townsend Sweet, Byng; two nephews, Raymond Townsend, Ada, and Eric Townsend, Las Vegas, NV; one great nephew, James Townsend; his ex-wife, Paula Coplen, Ada and her mother, Joyce Edwards, Ada.

He was preceded in death by his father, and a great nephew, Josh Kelley.

Bearers will be Raymond Townsend, James Townsend, Jesse Coplen, Tony Sojo, Gregory Myrick, and Richard Larney. Honorary bearer will be Aaron Lamb.
