Services for Loyd A. Price, 77, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Rodger Arter and Jamie Perry will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Price died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born July 3, 1930 at Marlow, Oklahoma to Ed and Maggie Hunt Price. He attended Cedar Grove and Francis schools and graduated from Francis High School.
He married Barbara Chism on March 10, 1951. Mr. Price retired from Remington Arms as the lead mechanic with over 21 years of service. He was a longtime active member of the Byng Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Price served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid gardener, a stock car enthusiast, and a Christmas Light Decoration winner for several years. He was instrumental in the starting and continuation of the Price Family Reunion for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Price, of the home; two daughters, Teresa Price Daigrepont and husband Jimmy, Shawnee, and Debra Price Kerr and husband Keith, Union Valley; one son, Darrell Price and wife Celeste, Seminole; one sister, Cora Miller, Sinton, Texas; six grandchildren, Brandy Daigrepont, Amber Sliger and husband Chad, Afton Brauning and husband Jed, Alonna Price, Luke Kerr and wife Talia, and Keressa Compton and husband Brad; four great grandchildren, Erin Mae Kerr, Jace and Abigail Ayres, and Breanna Brauning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wesley Price, and Bill Price, and two sisters, Lucille Morton, and Winnie Price.
Bearers will be Brad Compton, Jed Brauning, Keith Kerr, Luke Kerr, Jimmy Daigrepont, and Bob Hatter. Honorary bearer will be Rick Belville.
