Services for Gary Neil Matthews, 68, of Francis are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Jamie Perry will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Matthews passed away, Sunday, March 14, 2021 at his home. He was born January 10, 1953 in Ada, OK to Ernest Wilbur and Margie June Harris Matthews. He graduated from Allen High School.
He married Sheila Kay Yount March 12, 1971 in Allen. Mr. Matthews was self-employed in the Oilfield Industry.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila, of the home; his mother, Margie Matthews, Francis; daughter, Sheryl Goodson and husband Jack, Allen; son, Kanan Matthews and wife Tasha, Francis; seven grandchildren, Chad Goodson and wife Keisha, Cole Goodson and wife Amber, Bodrey Goodson, Lilly Matthews, Jake Matthews, Gus Matthews and Karson Matthews; three great-grandchildren, Brogen, Khloe and Eden; a sister, Sharon Lewis, Tulsa; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Matthews.
Bearers will be Rob Specht, Justin Holder, Scottie Gorrell, Justin Colbert, Jason Watkins and John Cundiff. Honorary bearers will be Brent Phillips, Ed Smith, Lyle Henderson, Justin Smith, Danny Holder, Jerry West, Roger Jared, Kenny Cundiff, Jack Goodson, Larry Colbert, Chad Colbert and Adam Colbert.
