Services for James Edward “Eddie” Fowler, 72, of Francis will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Cedar Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Fowler died Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at a local hospital. He was born September 19, 1951 in Wichita Falls, TX to James Ezekiel and Dora Lee Barker Fowler.
He married Cheryl Choate on April 13, 1973. Mr. Fowler retired from Pontotoc County Dist. 1, Francis PWA, Francis Volunteer Fire Dept and he also served on the Town of Francis Board of Trustees for several years. He previously was employed with Delta D as a Foreman. He loved archery, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl of the home; three sons, James A. Fowler, Francis, Jamie E. Fowler and Dave Schweitzer, Ranlo, NC and Gary W. Fowler and wife Amber, Asher; four grandchildren, Brenden Fowler, Mary Fowler, Dayton Fowler and Kelby Fowler; brother, Teddy V. Fowler of Francis; and sister, Terry Fowler of Byng.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rickie Fowler; and three sisters, Karla Sue Walker, Sandra Atkeson and Connie Guthrie.
Bearers will be Roger Matthews, Brenden Fowler, Kelby Fowler, John Linebarger, John Littlefield and Clayton Canada. Honorary bearers will be Jerry Dean West, Lynn Lee, Mary Fowler and Dayton Fowler.
