Services for Paula Ann Cushman, 69, formerly of Shawnee, are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Tim Tate will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Cushman died Friday, December 16, 2016 at a Shawnee hospital. She was born on February 21, 1947 in Ada to Wayne Ernest and Ruth Mathis. She graduated from Stonewall High School.

She married Donald Dewayne Cushman on November 9, 1967 in Ada. Mrs. Cushman received her Master’s Degree from East Central University and taught at Seminole High School for thirty years. She was a member of the Immanuel Fellowship Church of Seminole.

Survivors include her husband Don, of the home; one son, Dewayne Cushman of Francis; one daughter, Royanna Cushman of Ada; one sister, Ronda Sweeney of Stonewall; two brothers, Bruce Mathis of Kilgore, TX and David Mathis of Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Mathis; mother, Ruth Whittington; and step-father, Paul “Ironhead” Whittington.

Bearers will be Dewayne Cushman, Robert Willis, Paul Sweeney, Brian Cushman, Terry Cushman and Robert Cushman.
