Services for Altha Truly Attebery, 104, of Mill Creek, formerly of Francis are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Betty Stone. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery at Francis.
Mrs. Attebery passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at a Sulphur nursing home. She was born July 30, 1912 at Arkinda, Arkansas to Samuel Alonzo and Ava Bell Key Smithers.
She married James “Red” Attebery July 4, 1930. He preceded her in death in 1970. She later married Euell Golightly in 1980. He preceded her in death in 1990. Mrs. Attebery was a homemaker and an avid gardener and seamstress. She was Past Worthy Matron in the Order of Eastern Star and she was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Peggy Attebery of Mill Creek and Judy Attebery of Francis; five grandchildren, Darlene Pittman, Jerry Attebery and spouse Paige, Randy Attebery and wife Ann, David Attebery and spouse Patty, and Diann Wilson and husband John; 11 great grandchildren, Geary Pittman, Kim Dixon, Kristalyn Pittman, Mary Bocox, Kyle Attebery, Josh Attebery, Shelby Attebery, Sofie Attebery, Sage Attebery, Savanna Wilson and Logan Wilson; 13 great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Attebery and Glen Attebery; five sisters, Bertha, Mamie, Gertrude, Clara and Reatha; and two brothers, John and Thelmer.
