Services for Cora Evelyn Dobson Ballagh, 93, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Richard Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at the family cemetery near Black Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ballagh passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at an Ada assisted living center. She was born December 3, 1927 in Kaw City, OK to James Franklin and Lora Faye Longshore Dobson. She attended Little Beaver Grade School, a 1 room country school and graduated from Kaw City High School.
She married Kenneth Calvin Ballagh November 30, 1946 in Winfield, KS. He preceded her in death December 9, 1995 in Ada. She and her husband farmed, ranched and raised their family in Kaw City and later moved to Ada in 1988. Mrs. Ballagh was a wife and mother of five children. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church in Ada where she spent many hours in the nursery. She also kept children in her home.
Survivors include two daughters, Cinda Bailey and husband Richard, Ada and Linda Ladd and husband Eddie, Blanchard; a son, Gary Lee Ballagh and wife Beverly, Ada; two daughters-in-law, Bobbe Ballagh and Patty Ballagh, both of Ponca City; 14 grandchildren, Jeffery Ken Ballagh, Julie Kim Barker, Jill Kaylynn Parks, Rick Bailey, Rob Bailey, Ryan Bailey, Lacy Bailey, Tiffany Ladd, Shelbi Ladd, Aubrey Ladd, Darci Ladd, Garet Ballagh, Ashlen Frost and Jaron Ballagh; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Kenneth Joe Ballagh in 1976 and Jimmy Guy Ballagh in 2004; and a great-grandchild.
Bearers will be her grandsons.
