Services for Ella Carrethers, 61, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. James Church of God in Christ, Rev. Famous Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery.
Ms. Carrethers died Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at a Lindsay hospital. She was born January 18, 1958 to Lee Dorothy Carrethers and Spodey Parks, both of Ada; and was raised by her aunt, Irene Kemp. She attended Napier School.
Ms. Carrethers was employed with New Horizons.
Survivors include her son, Laurel Keith Carrethers and wife Kasee Fulsom-Carrethers, of Ada; two granddaughters, Shauntel Davis and LaNika Dickerson, both of Ada; a niece, Mary Cheves of Bethel; four nephews, Tony Warner of Oklahoma City, Jay Runnells of Oklahoma City, Billy Runnells of Ada and Floyd Carrethers of Little Rock, AR.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lee Dorothy Carrethers; father, Spodey Parks; her mom/aunt, Irene Kemp; a niece, Donna Carrethers; two nephews, DeShico Shaw and Kerry Runnells; two sisters, Delois and Carol Carrethers.
Bearers will be Terrance Johnson, Mark Harris, Nigel Harris, Mike Harbin, John Thomas and Robert Miller. Honorary bearers will be Tony Warner and Jay Runnells. Flowers girls are Margaret Runnells, Sherry Fulsom and Sherry Black and Vernita Richardson.
