Services for H. C. Spain of Allen are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Allen. Bill Liggett will officiate. Interment will follow at Allen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Chapel in Allen.
Herbert Cecil was born March 12, 1939 at Allen, OK to Cecil Spain and Eileen Long Spain Overton. He passed at the age of 84 on May 6, 2023 at his home. He graduated from Allen High School in 1957. He was a lifelong resident of Allen and a proud alumnus. He attended OSU-IT in Okmulgee where he studied diesel mechanics.
He was married to Linda Kay Clift on June 8, 1968. They were married for 53 years before her passing in 2022. They had two children Lisa and Bill.
Mr. Spain had experience in a variety of trades including diesel mechanics, the oil and gas industry, maintenance, printing, manufacturing and utilities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Allen, where he had served as the Sunday School Superintendent.
He is survived by his daughter Lisa Wallace and husband Stan of Allen and son Bill Spain and wife LeaAnn of Ada. Five grandchildren, Britten and Maebrey Wallace and Christopher, Clayton and Carter Spain. One great-grandchild Kambri Spain, a special cousin Jeff Dooley and wife Laura along with their daughters and a step-sister Mary Jo Koehler and husband Bill, as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, grandparents, in-laws, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers are Stan Wallace, Jeff Dooley, Christopher Spain, Clayton Spain, Carter Spain and Kevin Luper. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Christian, Donny Johnson, Mark Legg and Zane Bowman.
