Marie Scroggins was born to the late Nelie Short and Essie Rinehart Short in Steedman, Oklahoma, on October 20, 1925. Her husband of 51 years, Arthur R. Scroggins, predeceased her in 1997. She was also predeceased by her brother, Truman Short. Marie joined family and friends in Heaven on Saturday, October 17, 2015, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Hindmarsh and husband James of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Carol Scroggins of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her son, Arthur R. Scroggins Jr. and wife Mary of Fort Smith, Arkansas; two grandsons, Darrell Hindmarsh and wife Sharon, and Neal Scroggins and wife Heather all of Greenwood, Arkansas; her granddaughter, Amber Thompson and husband Nick of Alexander, Arkansas; her great-grandson, Parker Scroggins of Greenwood, Arkansas; two great-granddaughters, Peyton Scroggins of Greenwood, Arkansas, and Ellie Thompson of Alexander, Arkansas; her sister, Rosie Ward of Eureka, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home, Ada, Oklahoma, will be at Allen Cemetery, Allen, Oklahoma, 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015. Visitation with family and friends will be on Monday, October 19, 2015, at The Potters House, 3124 Jenny Lind, Fort Smith, Arkansas, from 3 to 5 p.m.
