Services for Helen Laverne Pierce, 89, of Allen are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen School Auditorium, Rev. Ed Rutherford will officiate, assisted by her grandson, Jordan Pierce. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Tuesday until service time.

Mrs. Pierce passed away Sunday May 20, 2018 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born December 30, 1928 at Lookeba, OK to Dewey and Lorene Wakefield Farr.

She married L. D. Pierce May 24, 1946. He preceded her in death July 14, 1983. She, her husband and family moved to Allen in 1966 and she has been a lifelong resident since. She was bookkeeper and office manager at the Allen Food Center, retiring the day before she turned 80 years old. Previously, she worked at the Allen Nursing Home. Mrs. Pierce was a longtime member of the Allen Assembly of God Church and more recently attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Allen.

Helen was a wonderful wife, loving mother and friend to many.

Survivors include her children, Eric Pierce and wife Janie of Allen, Carl Pierce and wife Amanda of Tecumseh and Kathy Pinson and husband Harold of Ada; eight grandchildren, Amber Brooks, Kevin Steiner, Carrie Pierce, Jordan Pierce, Rylan Pierce, Jennifer Caldwell, Chris Smith and Craig Smith; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Patricia Pierce; son, Paul Wayne Pierce; and a sister, Joy Megli.

Bearers will be her grandsons: Kevin Steiner, Jordan Pierce, Rylan Pierce, Chris Smith, Craig Smith, Joe Brooks, Stephen Caldwell and Jerry Padilla.

The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Church of God of Prophecy, for Children and Youth Ministry or Missions, P. O. Box 374, Allen, OK 74825.
