Elsie Louise (Woodall) Knighten

Services for Elsie Louise Knighten, 91, Allen, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, Revs. Harvey Nickell and Alan Bakken will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Criswell Chapel in Allen from 4:00 p.m. Monday until service time.

Mrs. Knighten died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born July 8, 1916 at Lebanon, Oklahoma to Phillip and Weltha Johnson Woodall. She attended Wall Creek School in Arkansas and moved to Oklahoma in 1932 from Arkansas.

She married Clarince A. Knighten on December 10, 1933. He died March 14, 1996. Mrs. Knighten was a homemaker and affiliated with the Holiness church.

Survivors include three daughters, Magdline Griffin, and husband Roy, Allen, Barbara Joyner, and husband Pete, Allen, and Norva Wilson, and husband Arlan, Calvin; one son, Purvey Knighten, Allen and Dorothy; two sisters, Lucille Rudolph, Ada, and Alpha Overin, Whittier, California; ten grandchildren, Donna Slater and husband Bryon, Allen, Traci Cantwell and husband Kevin, Ada, Rhonda Cupps and husband Roger, Ada, Shana Roberson and husband Aaron, Ada, Dale Stringer, Gerty, Kimberly Wilson, Gerty, Karla Cramer and husband George, Allen, Randle Knighten, Dallas, Texas, Mary Johnson and husband Bobby, Allen, and Cathy Huitt and husband Mark, Allen; 23 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Travis Garland Knighten and Delton K. Knighten, two daughters, Nila Bernice Knighten and Floy Ann Knighten, two sisters, and six brothers.

Bearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Randle Knighten, George Cramer, Dale Stringer, Randle Morrison, David Morrison, and Scottie Morrison.
