Services for Thelma Ola Hamilton, 94, of Lula are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, at the Allen Church of Christ, Danny Stewart, Mark Legg and Ed Rutherford will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery.
Mrs. Hamilton died Saturday, September 8, 2012 at her home. She was born August 9, 1918 in the Red Oak Community, near Allen, Oklahoma to Jacob Arnold and Cora Ann Rayburn Phillips. She attended Red Oak School and graduated from Francis High School in 1937. She attended East Central State Teacher’s College.
She married Elmo E. Hamilton on February 1, 1947 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2010 in Ada. Mrs. Hamilton was the payroll clerk for the Oklahoma State Highway Department of Transportation for 12 years and a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Allen Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Gary Hamilton and his wife Sue of Ada; two grandchildren, Olivia Hamilton and Cooper Hamilton, both of Ada; her nieces, Billie Barnes, Jewell Collins, Alberta Milner and her husband Ron, all of Ada; Nancy McDougal and her husband Danny of Allen; Pat Scroggins of Phoenix, AZ, and Jean Bouthillier of Peoria, AZ; her nephews, David Phillips and wife Carolyn of Allen, and Arnold Phillips, Jr. and his wife Linda, Odessa, TX; and special friends, Bob and Nancy Smith of Tupelo.
Bearers will be Hugh Cooper, Larry Whisenhunt, Chris Merriman, Roger Merriman, Justin Boolin, and Trent Sanders. Honorary bearers will be Wendell Reynolds, Lewis Reynolds and Louis Daniels.
