Services for Billy Lee Griffin, 85, of Allen are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Allen, Rev. David McDougal will officiate. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Wednesday until service time.

Mr. Griffin passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his home. He was born August 15, 1930 at Brashear, Texas to W. J. and Stella Viola Martin Griffin. He graduated from Allen High School.

Billy married Katie Glendene Prentice September 28, 1953 in Allen. He worked as an operator for Sun Oil Company and later he was a Station Operator for Texoma Pipeline. He was a member and deacon of the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Glendene, of the home; his children, Marla Tinkler and husband David of Ada, Bruce Griffin of Gerty and Leah Tidwell and husband Todd of Norman; four grandchildren, Conner Tinkler and wife Rikki, Norman, Dylan Tinkler, Ada, Kelsey Tidwell, Stillwater and Matthew Tidwell, Norman; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Lennon Tinkler; two nephews, Jay Lynn Crawford and wife Karen, Mesa, AZ and Terry Dean Ferguson, Prescott, AZ; a special niece, Rita Crawford, Tempe, AZ; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Kirby; step-father, E. L. Kirby; three brothers, Maurice Dale Ferguson, Tommy Ferguson and J. A. Ferguson; and a sister, Laverne Scarlett.

Bearers will be Conner Tinkler, Dylan Tinkler, Matthew Tidwell, Danny McDougal, Charles Henry and Robert Hammond. Honorary bearers will be Ronny Janda, Darrell Janda, Terry Janda and Kerry Caldwell.
