Services for Patty Eileen Cotton, 79, of Allen are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Sunday until service time.

Mrs. Cotton passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at her home. She was born April 23, 1937 in Allen to Marshall Clayborn and Estella Mae Cook Whitehead. She graduated from Allen High School and also received an Associate’s Degree.

She married Gerald Wayne Cotton June 1, 1955 in Ada. He preceded her in death November 6, 1980. Mrs. Cotton was an Inventory Control Manager in the Administration Office at Houston Community College until her retirement. Professionally, Patty was a member and served as an officer in the College Office Professional Association and the National Secretaries Association. Patty loved sewing, quilting and canning. She was a member of the Ada and Allen HCE (Home, Community and Education) Clubs. She enjoyed helping with the quilts and wherever else needed at the Pontotoc County Fair. She had also been a member of the Ada and Allen Quilting Clubs.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Cotton Welch and her husband Dan of Houston, TX, and Kelly Todd and her husband Mike of Allen; four grandchildren, Taylor Welch and wife Katy of Houston, Kalenn Crane and husband Charles of Rosenberg, TX, Atty Todd and Jack Todd, both of Allen; two great grandchildren, Mason and Ben Welch; a brother, Fred Whitehead and wife Shirley of Lawton; sister-in-law, Joan Whitehead of Allen; a brother-in-law, Jack Bryant of Allen; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Mozelle Stephens, Lorraine Mitchell and Romaette Bryant; two brothers, Walter Whitehead and Marshall Whitehead; and a brother-in-law, O. S. Stephens.

Bearers will be Taylor Welch, Charles Crane, Dan Welch, Mike Todd, Carlous West and James Arnold.
