Services for Joyce Kay Cook, 72, of Allen are 10:30 Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church, Bro. Matthew Martin and Bro. Gregg Joki will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Allen Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Chapel in Allen.
Ms. Cook passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at her home. She was born May 25, 1950 in Holdenville, OK to Dan and Anna Lou Royer Cook.
Ms. Cook was an LPN for many years. She worked at Woodland Hills Nursing Home in Allen from 1970 to 1982 and then at Valley View/Mercy Hospital from 1982-2020.
Ms. Cook was a Licensed Minister of the United Pentecostal Church and a youth leader for 15 years.
She is survived by one sister, Sue Ellen Greene and husband Ray of Ocala, FL; one brother, Kenneth Cook and wife Linda of Caney, OK; brother-in-law, Johnny Summers of Allen; nieces, Melissa Harrington and husband Phillip, Becky Hefley and husband Bill, Tracy Cook, and Bonnie Marcy and husband Larry; nephew, Greg Cook and wife Nicole; several great and great great nieces and nephews; her church family; and other loving relatives and friends.
Ms. Cook was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carolyn Summers.
Bearers are Derek Ross, Taylor Ross, Zack Hefley, Rylan Hefley, Bill Hefley and Phillip Harrington. Honorary bearers are Lindsay Camp, Richard Pulliam, Rev. Rick Fuller, Skip Brice and Mike Rohatch. Honorary bearers in the Young at Heart Group: Bill Fletcher, Dee Taber, Don Beasley, Warren Davidson, Mike Deckard, Billy Keesee, James Davis, Jimmy Jones, Malchom Wainwright and Johnny Whitaker.
