Services for James Paul Claborn, Jr., 57, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Lonnie Roy Manuel will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery.
James passed away in his home surrounded by his beloved family on Monday, April 23, 2018. He was born November 10, 1960 at Lawton to James Paul Claborn, Sr. and Goldie Mae Isaacs Claborn. James’ family moved his senior year to Ada where he attended Vanoss High School and met his future wife, Deborah Lorraine Grissom. They were married September 25, 1981 in Ada.
James was a man known for his willingness to help a friend, neighbor, co-worker or even a stranger. He was a carpenter for over 30 years where he earned a reputation for hard work, attention to detail and always dealt fairly. But, he was known mainly for his love of his family. He was always ready with a proud word or two (or dozen) about his wife, sons and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie, of the home; two sons, Clint Claborn and wife Sarah and Chad Claborn and wife Kris, all of Ada; four grandchildren, Trevor, Wyatt, Cheyenne and Chase; his father, James Claborn, Sr. of Ada; three brothers, Bobby, Johnny and Kenny, all of Ada; one sister, Sandra of Wayne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Jimmy Claborn.
Bearers will be Clint Claborn, Chad Claborn, Paul Claborn, Bobby Claborn, Johnny Claborn and Kenny Claborn. Honorary bearers will be Trevor Claborn, Wyatt Claborn, Cheyenne Claborn and Chase Ellis.
James requested that instead of flowers, please put that money to a better use and plan some family time. He will be watching and smiling from above.
