Services for Donald Leroy Byrd, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2024 at the Southwest Church of Christ, David Dirrim will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Criswell Funeral Home.

Donald Leroy Byrd went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2024, surrounded by his wife and loving family at the age of 69. Don was born on April 13, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas to David and Lemesa (Wainscott) Byrd.

Don was a 1974 graduate of Latta High School. After graduating, he married his high school sweetheart, Janna Boyles Byrd in 1978. They had been married for 46 years. After his marriage, they moved to Fairfield, Texas where he worked in the oilfield for four years before returning to Ada where he was employed with Peoples Electric Cooperative for 38 years and retired as an Underground Supervisor in 2017.

Don enjoyed camping, and he was an avid fisherman. He was most known for pranking his coworkers and friends. Above all, he was the greatest Poppy to his six grandkids Beau and Kreece Griffin, and Kollyns, Jennings, Tennyson, and Kallaway Martin.
br> He was a faithful member of Southwest Church of Christ for fifty years where he served in various areas.

Don is survived by his wife Janna of the home; his daughters AshLee and husband Jared Griffin of Ada; and Megan and husband Todd Martin of Ada; brother David Wayne Byrd of Gerty; sister Kathy Summers and husband Rick of Louisburg, Kansas; brother Roger Byrd and wife Debbie of Allen; brother-in-law Johnny Boyles and his wife Carolyn of Allen; and sister-in-law Brenda Byrd of Ada.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tommy Byrd and Timmy Byrd, sister-in-law Darla Jo Byrd, and mother-in-law Jessie Glover.

Pall bearers will be Roger Byrd, Jared Griffin, Beau Griffin, Kreece Griffin, Todd Martin, and Nicolas Boyles.

Honorary pall bearers will be David Wayne Byrd, Johnny Boyles, Allen Hightower, David Babers, Mark Hill, Stan Pitts, Dale Johnson, and Buster Greenwoo
