Sylvia Diane Robichaud, known affectionately as Diane to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, in McAlester, Oklahoma. The family will greet friends 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Cremation will follow. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday October 28, 2024 at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, (N. Pyle Mountain Road) officiated by Rev. Jody Dominque. Born on September 8, 1956, in Talihina, Oklahoma, Sylvia's life was a testament to her intelligence, spirited nature, and creative spirit. A proud graduate of McAlester High School, Sylvia furthered her education at Eastern Oklahoma State College and earned a Bachelor's degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. While she dedicated much of her life to being a homemaker, Sylvia also contributed to the workforce on several occasions, sharing her talents and warmth with those she worked alongside. Sylvia's interests were a reflection of her curious and engaging mind. She found joy in solving puzzles, an activity that allowed her to challenge herself and unwind. A lover of learning, she frequently watched documentaries, eager to know more about the world. Her favorite television shows, NCIS, Perry Mason, Murder She Wrote and Sherlock Holmes was a testament to her love for stories that combined intellect with intrigue. She was preceded in death by her father and loved, mother, Evelyn Erickson; her loved brother, Randy Jefferson and sister, Claudia Currey. Her legacy continues through her children, Eve, Michael, John, Ian, and Robert Robichaud, and her loved granddaughter, Ebboni Robichaud. Sylvia's memory will also be treasured by her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other family members and friends who were blessed to know her. Those who knew Sylvia will remember her as a woman who embraced life with enthusiasm and creativity. Her spirit lifted the spirits of others, and her creative approach to life's challenges was an inspiration. Sylvia Diane Robichaud lived a life full of love, learning, and laughter. She will be deeply missed, yet her influence will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of her journey.
