Justin Kyle Currey, was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved being outside, fishing, or playing golf. Justin joined his Grandma Claudia fishing in heaven on September 1, 2023. Leaving this world way too soon at the age of 33. His contagious smile and laugh will be missed by those who love and miss him. Jusin will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery at 3030 Pyle Mountain Rd, McAlester, OK with celebration of life reception following at tabernacle. Justin was born on February 22, 1990, in McAlester, OK where he was loved and cared for by his grandma until she passed away when he was seven. He became the son of Andy and Tammy Currey gaining a sister, Heather, and later a little brother, Bradley. Justin loved camping or spending time with his Aunt Cricket (Claudia L Currey), Uncle Rodney Willie and cousins Brittany Talbott and Ryan Haney. All made an impact on his life.   He graduated from Prague High School in 2008 and was loved by those who knew him. He was a talented athlete excelling in cross country, track, basketball, and golf. He was a state medalist in cross country and track. Also, was selected to run in the Down Under in Australia his senior year.   Justin is survived by his mother, Tammy Currey of Bristow; his father, Andrew Currey and wife, Caroll of Tulsa; his sister, Heather and her fiancé, Tyler Chapman of Jones; his brother, Bradley Currey and his wife, Lora of Bixby; his nephew, Harrison Chapman of Jones; his grandmother, Zelda Waldron of McAlester; his grandfather, Lynn Currey and wife, Arlene of Murfreesboro, TN. Justin is survived by several aunts and uncles: Angela Dickison and husband, Matt of Rio Linda, CA; Joe Waldron and wife, Jackie of Oklahoma City, Daniel Currey and wife, Jennifer of Murfreesboro, TN, Claudia L Currey, Rodney Willie, Marina Waldron, Jenifer Hartness and husband, Matt of McAlester and two great aunts, Julie Jefferson and Sylvia Robichaud. Justin had many cousins and other relatives he loved and cared about. Justin is preceded in death by his grandma, Claudia E Currey; his grandma, Catherine Housley; his grandpa, Johnny Waldron; his great uncles Larry James and Randy Jefferson and cousin, Jody Jefferson.
