Willa Faye (West) Lett, 85 of Cabiness died Sunday, October 13, 2024 in McAlester. The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Pastor John Fowler and Pastor Cecil Day. A private burial will follow at White Chimney Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Duston Hull, Jason Lindley, Doug Hull, Greg Montgomery, Ron Dusenberry, Craig Kennedy, Jim Nunn and Ronnie Dunlap, Jr. Willa Faye was born to Robert Byron and Ophelia “Bonnie” (Grant) West on July 2, 1939 in Cabiness. She graduated from Stuart High School with the class of 1957. Willa attended business school in Tulsa. She married Shirrell Lee Lett on August 15, 1964 in Stuart. Willa worked at Komar and then McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. She took time off from working to raise her children, Connie and Philip. She returned to work at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant where she worked as a General Supply Specialist, retiring in 2004 after 28 total years of service. Willa enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing and she was an avid Oklahoma City Thunder and OU Women’s Softball fan. Willa was a kind and gentle person her legacy of love will live long through her family. She was committed to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shirrell Lee Lett in 1997; her parents, Robert and Bonnie West; and brother Robert “Loren” West. Willa is survived by her daughter, Connie Dunlap and husband, Ronnie of Cabiness; son, Philip Lett of Catoosa; granddaughters, Kayla Spradley and husband, Garrett, Emily Smith; great grandchildren, McKenna Spradley, Grayson Spradley all of Sylvania, Ohio; sister, Marcella Montgomery and husband Roy of Wilsonville, Oregon; sister-in-law, Phyllis West of Arpelar; special cousin, Elva Nunn; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Willa will be missed but not forgotten. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staffs of Southeast Hospice, Belfair of McAlester and Kennedy Eye Care for your compassionate care of Willa. Your kindness, dedication and support will not be forgotten and we are forever grateful.
