Charles was born on January 27, 1952, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to Ralph, Jr. and Kathryn (Hartzell) Anderson. Being one of ten kids, Charles never ran out of things to do as a young boy whether it was swinging across valleys on vines with his brothers or tending to the family farm. He graduated from McGuffey High School in Claysville, Pennsylvania in 1972 and joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after graduation. While stationed at McAlester Naval Ammunition Depot, Charles met the love of his life, Lenora Kay "Katy" Alexander, through a mutual friend. It was love at first sight and no time was wasted. In just three short months, on March 17, 1973, they became Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson in Haywood, Oklahoma, and celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary last March. Charles and Lenora were in Pennsylvania for a family emergency in May of 1974 when their first daughter, Patricia Kay ("Tricia"), was born, giving him the title of "Dad." After returning to Oklahoma, in 1979, they were elated to know a son would soon be joining their family. God had other plans for Charles Edward Anderson, Jr, and he entered heaven shortly after birth. Charles was successful with many career paths, spending time as a roughneck in the fields of Pennsylvania, a pumper in Oklahoma, and many years as a manager of Loftis Furniture in McAlester and at the Army Ammunition Plant, the latter from which he retired. In 1981, Charles and Lenora completed their family with their birth of their second daughter, Christina Lynn ("Tina"). The family downsized in 1993 when they tragically lost their oldest daughter, Tricia. During this time, Charles taught his family strength and love and total dependence on God as his faith grew. Charles worked hard to provide for his wife and daughters, and enjoyed spoiling them every chance he got. Being a father made him prouder than anything - that was until April of 2004 when he added the title "Pap" after the birth of his first grandchild, Jayde. In 2007, his heart grew even larger with the birth of his grandson, Caden. Being "Pap" was his favorite thing to do, and you couldn't have asked for a better one. Charles spent the remainder of his life on earth walking closely by the ones he loved. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, Uncle Chuck, and even "Duck" to some. He left his earthly body with a peace beyond our understanding. Luke 23:43 reads, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." Charles received his Paradise, alongside Charles Jr. and Tricia, to spend eternity in the presence of God. Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph, Jr. and Kathryn Anderson; a son: Charles Edward Anderson, Jr; a daughter: Patricia Kay Anderson; and his brothers: Ronnie Anderson, Dave Anderson, and Tim Anderson. His survived by his wife: Lenora; daughter: Tina Anderson; grandchildren: Jayde and Caden White, all of the home; sisters: Daunice Morgan of Claysville, Pennsylvania, Wilma Creighton and husband, Randy of Valley Grove, West Virginia, Lois Hamberger of West Alexander, Pennsylvania, and Mary Snyder and husband, Dave of West Alexander, Pennsylvania; brothers: Ralph Edward Anderson, III and wife, Misty of Taylorstown, Pennsylvania, and Rick Anderson of West Alexander, Pennsylvania; special uncle and lifelong best friend: Larry Anderson of Waynesburg, Pennsylvania; special friend and "grandson:" Jagger White of McAlester; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends along with all those that came to love him through their relationship with his kids and grandkids.
