Helen Louise Fry, 86, of Indianola, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at her home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home chapel in McAlester with Pastor Fred Morrison officiating. Burial will be at Ulan Cemetery. Helen was born on November 25, 1938 in Ulan, Oklahoma. She married James V. Fry on July 2, 1955 in McAlester. She served as the Correctional Training Officer for the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. She enjoyed gardening, reading, was a master gardener, a member of the Indianola School Board and a Red Cross Board Member. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, James V. Fry; Beverly S. Johnston of McAlester, OK; grandchildren, Jeremiah J. Johnson of Eufaula, OK, Jason L. Walker in Oklahoma City, OK, Daniel L. Johnson of Indianola, OK, and James L. Fry of Sumpter SC; children of Jason Walker and Tabatha Adams, Heather Walker of Kingston, OK, Rachel Walker of Crowder, OK, and Ian Walker of Oklahoma City, OK; child of Jason and Quinnie Walker, Elijah Walker of McAlester, OK; child of Daniel Johnson, Peyton Johnson of Tanino, WA; children of James L. Fry and Amanda Fry, Noah Fry of Sumpter, SC, Ezra Fry of Sumpter, SC, and Josephine Fry of Sumpter, SC.; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Sheryl Vaughn of Neches, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Dobyns and Rudy Genosic of Simms, TX. She was preceded in death by her children, James J. Fry, Deborah A. Powell and Nora Dian Harrold; granddaughter, Misty Michelle Philpot.
