Denny J. Cox, a loving son, and friend, passed away on July 31, 2023, in Gore, Oklahoma. Born on March 21, 1956, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Denny was a man known for his friendly demeanor, his love for the outdoors, and his exceptional handy skills. Denny was a proud graduate of Indianola High School, where he developed a passion for carpentry that would shape his professional life. He was an accomplished carpenter, dedicating many years to the construction field. Beyond his professional life, Denny was a man who loved the outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and camping, always appreciating the beauty and tranquility of nature. These activities were not just hobbies for Denny, but a way of life that brought him immense happiness and peace. His love for the outdoors was infectious, inspiring those around him to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. Denny was blessed with a wonderful friendship with Linda Ketchum of McAlester, who became a special part of his life. Their bond was one of mutual respect, shared interests, and unconditional love. Through this relationship, Denny was also blessed with bonus children, Shawn Ketchum and his wife, Tamra, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Alisha Ketchum of McAlester. He cherished his role as a bonus father, providing guidance, support, and love. Denny also took great joy in his bonus grandchildren, Jaxon, Colton, and Caden, who brought him immense happiness. Denny is survived by his mother, Ramona Cox of Durant, Oklahoma, his special friend, Linda, his bonus children, Shawn and Alisha, his bonus grandchildren, Jaxon, Colton, and Caden, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Each of these individuals held a special place in Denny's heart, and he in theirs. In remembering Denny, we celebrate a life well-lived. A life filled with love, friendship, and a passion for the outdoors. A life that touched many and left a lasting impact. Denny J. Cox was a man who lived his life to the fullest, cherishing every moment and every person in his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, AJ "Ab" Cox, brother, Lyndell Niles Cox and wife, Edith Ann Cox in 2006. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at Ulan Cemetery with burial to follow.
