Ernest Clinton Anderson, Jr., 71, of Indianola died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in McAlester. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2019 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Rick Kerns officiating. The burial will follow at Ulan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Perrin, Stephen Gardner, Jr., Jonathan Jewell, Bryan Anderson, Brison Yarnell and Noah Thomas. Ernest was born November 22, 1947 in Kennett, MO to Ernest C. Anderson, Sr. and Betty (Baird) Anderson. He married Janet Mason on February 14, 2005 in McAlester. Ernie lost his battle with agent orange after serving 3 tours in Vietnam as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1968. He was a strong man with a gentle heart. He loved his Country, family and God. He enjoyed traveling and taking his grandchildren on vacations. He worked as a service technician for Western Novelty after moving to McAlester. He is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Anderson, Sr.; mother, Betty McCorkle, and a granddaughter, Hope. Ernest is survived by his wife, Janet Anderson of the home; children, Stacey Perrin and husband, Scott of Eufaula, Bryan Anderson and Hailey Gorden of Krebs, Jeanelle Thomas and husband, Jeremy of McAlester, Stephen Gardner, Jr. of Indianola, Mandy Yarnell and husband, Brian of Norman, Waynelle Smith and husband, Joe Walla Walla, WA and Erika Turner of Prosper, TX; grandchildren, Elly, Piper, Brison, Mason, Jacob, Noah, Jonathan, Erika, Andi, Stormy, Dale, Trinity, Divina, Hailey and Hayden; one great granddaughter, Hollee; sisters, Delores Reid and husband, Delbert of Popular Bluff, MO, Billie Montgomery of West Sacramento, CA, Stella Metzler and husband, Scott of Union, WA, and Anita Gerleman of Center, MO; brother, Charles Lowder of Shelton, WA and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
