Jannie Mae (Bullard) Watson, 90 of McAlester died at her home in the Shady Grove community Saturday, September 21, 2024. Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024 at Tannehill Cemetery officiated by Rev. Gene Hankins and Rev. Don Parr. Pallbearers will be, Luke Collard, Raymond Parker, Aaron Parker, Justin Parker, Josh Dungan and Stetson Collard. Honorary Pallbearers will be great grandsons Chris Dungan and Tyler Robinson. Jannie Mae was born to Aaron Jackson and Dollie (Janaway) Bullard on April 15, 1934 in Wister. She was raised in the Wister area and attended school at Fanshawe and later Indianola. She married Ray Lawson Watson on June 13, 1949 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was a homemaker and cattle rancher. After raising 4 children, Jannie studied to be a licensed practical nurse at Kiamichi Area Vo-tech where she graduated at the top of her class. She worked as an LPN at McAlester Regional Hospital on the night shift for 26 years, retiring in 2003. She was an avid gardener and continued raising cattle after Ray's death in 1975. Jannie was a long-time member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Dollie Bullard; husband, Ray Lawson Watson; oldest son, Louis Ray Watson; brother, Lloyd Aaron Bullard and sister-in-law, Wilma Bullard; a son-in-law, Bobby Parker and grandson-in-law, Robert Dungan. Jannie is survived by daughters, Linda Collard and husband, Bob of Bee Branch, Arkansas, Connie Parker of McAlester; son, Max Watson and wife, Rhonda of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughter-in-law, Barbara Watson of McAlester; nephew, Billy Bullard of McAlester; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren; other family members and friends.
