Shirley Pauline Martin, 76, of Tannehill, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her residence. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15 at Bishop Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 16 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Rev. Steve Eldridge, Rev. Bobby Maddox, and Rev. Jamie Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment will follow at Tannehill Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. Shirley Pauline Laws was born June 10, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, Texas to Jim and Girtie (Davison) Laws. She was a graduate of Talco, Texas High School in 1956. She married Lewis E. Martin on October 11, 1958 in McAlester. Together, they owned and operated the McAlester Sonic for eight years. Shirley began working at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in 1981 in human resources and retired in 2003. She was a member of the Tannehill Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing for her grandchildren and shopping for antiques. She is survived by her son: Mike Martin, Sr. and wife, Tish of Tannehill, grandchildren: Stephanie Rich and husband, Jeff of Tannehill, Jake Martin and wife, Bree of Tannehill, Bridget Scruggs and husband, Robert of Gainesville, Texas, Summer Martin of Eufaula. Also, great-grandchildren: Isaac Rich, James Edward Martin, Hailey Martin, Kaylee Rich, Mikayla Martin, Jacob Martin, Ethan Womack, Avery Scruggs; sisters: Bonnie Good of Keller, Texas, Margie Baugh of Paradise, Texas; and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lewis E. Martin on May 29, 2008; her parents: Jim and Girtie Laws; her sisters: Gladys Coffey, Lois Quine, Jessie Ottinger, Dessie George; and a brother: James Lloyd Laws. Pallbearers will be Larry Jiles, Larry Watson, Jim Prater, Max Clark, Don Hass, Robert Williamson, and Toby Rains. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dick Upchurch, Jerry Hill, James Edward Martin, Isaac Rich, Josh Roberts, and Barry Eller.
