Loyd Dale London, Sr., 81, of the Tannehill area, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at a local nursing facility. Loyd was born June 9, 1941 in Wildorado, Texas to Gene and Julia (Upton) London. He married Mary Moss on Jun 18, 1959 in McAlester, Oklahoma. They had a caring relationship based on mutual support and a deep love for each other. He proudly served on the McAlester Police Department for 23 years, retiring in 1993. Loyd enjoyed traveling and working on his Tannehill farm. He took pleasure in spending time with his grandson, Mitch, also referred to as Little Man, working on the various farm equipment and passing on his knowledge to the next generation. He was a member of the Krebs First Baptist Church. Loyd is reunited with his parents, Gene and Julia London; his 5 brothers and 3 sisters; his aunt and uncle who raised him, Birdie and Mitchell Haynes. He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; his daughter, Kathy Prichard and husband Joe of Krebs; his son, Loyd London, Jr. and wife Kelly of McAlester; his daughter, Athena Marlow and husband Mark of Scipio; a brother, Jerry London; also, 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Mitchell Watkins, Calvin Channon, Stephen Sparks, Josh Harrington, Brant Shaw and Chris Weiher. Honorary pallbearers will be John Watkins, Nathan Bond, Jerry London, Zach Prichard, Chris Morris and Loyd London, Jr. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Krebs with Rev. Ralph Suter officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill Cemetery.
