Alvin Eugene Box, 73, of Tannehill, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 in Tannehill. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Tannehill Cemetery Pavilion with Michael Perry officiating. Due to current health restrictions, only 10 will be allowed at the pavilion and others will need to stay at your car. Alvin Eugene Box was born on April 25, 1947 in Summerfield, Oklahoma to Velma Lorene (Box) McElroy. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division during Vietnam. He was a retired welder for the Union Pacific Railroad. He married Lawanda Kay on November 25, 1972 in Weatherford, Texas. He enjoyed ranching, hunting and tinkering. Survivors include his wife, Lawanda Kay Box; children and spouses, Rita and Larry Scroggins of Wewoka, OK, Michael and Sandy Box of Tannehill, Matthew and Jennifer Box of Tannehill and Richard Box of Tannehill, OK; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers and a sister-in-law, Joe and Rowena McElroy and Max McElroy and a sister, Elaine McElroy. Pallbearers will be his family members.
