Linda Carol (Lewis) Bennett, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on June 21, 2023, in McAlester, Oklahoma at the age of 74. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Josh Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Tannehill cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dewey Wimberly, Dale Wimberly, Tony Edwards, Joe Dority, Cody Lewis, Condo Echelle, and Tom Lenox. Linda Carol (Lewis) Bennett was born on June 21, 1949 in Ulan, Oklahoma to Otto Lewis and Helen (Kittrell) Lewis. She married Gary Lee Bennett on June 26, 1968 at the Scipio Baptist Church. Lori Bennett and Angie (Bennett) Brown were born of the union. Her husband, Gary, passed away on January 10, 2012. Linda retired from Komar in 2011 after working there for many years. She was a dedicated employee who took pride in her work and formed lasting friendships with her colleagues. A woman of the Baptist faith, Linda's spiritual beliefs guided her throughout her life. Linda's faith was an integral part of her life, and it provided her with the strength and resilience to face life's challenges. She is survived by her daughters: Lori Bennett, and Angela Brown; grandchildren: Meghan McDaniel, and Kayli Bennett; great-granddaughter: Kaia Crone; great-grand dog: Diesel; sisters: Lorene Stevens, and Sharon Sanborn; uncle: Johnnie Kittrell; and aunt: Carolene Bledsoe. Linda is preceded in death by her spouse: Gary Bennett; her parents: Otto and Helen Lewis; and her brothers: Freddie Lewis, and Hubert Lewis.
