Jackie Dan Anderson, 73, of Eufaula, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Community Hospital Lakeview in Eufaula. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with the Rev. Bruce Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Sulphur Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. Born May 8, 1935, in Hartshorne, he was the son of Jessie Edward and Ethel Alene (Adamson) Anderson. He grew up in Hartshorne and graduated from high school there. He married Joyce Wilson on Nov. 11, 1956, in Hartshorne. In 1958 he entered into service for his country with the United States Army. He spent two years in the Army then returned home after his honorable discharge in 1960, and had lived near Eufaula for the past several years.He became a construction contractor, working in commercial and residential construction in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas and for several of his final years was a general contractor for Mid-Continent Bonding Company. He enjoyed sports, and in his younger years he coached little league baseball in Hartshorne and coached Hartshorne's boxing club. He also enjoyed listening to classical music and spending time with friends at the Eufaula Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Anderson, of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Danny and Leola Anderson, of Harrah, Tom Anderson, Arlington, Va., and Curtis and Lisa Anderson, of McAlester.Also, three grandchildren, Kathryn Anderson and Joshua Anderson, of Harrah, and Cory Anderson, of McAlester; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Frances and Bob Nick, of Okmulgee, and Ruth Moody, of Hartshorne. And, brothers-in-law, Paul Wilson, of Mustang, and Steve Wilson and his wife, Valerie, Houston, and numerous nieces and nephewsHe was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Jerry Mack, Freddie Joe and Jessie Edward Anderson.
