E. J. Allford, 80, of McAlester, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in McAlester. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 13 at Bishop Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Briggs and Rev. Don Parr officiating. Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service. E.J. was born January 29, 1935 to Barron Miller and Dorothy Leona (Weddle) Allford in Scipio. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1953 and attended Oklahoma State University. He married Carol Riley November 27, 1953 at Durant, Oklahoma. E.J. joined his fathers grocery business, Allfords Thrifty Wise, and then owned and operated BM Allford and Son Service Stations. He also owned and operated the Phillips, Mobil, DX and Sinclair service stations and Allfords Laundry in McAlester. He had also worked at the Phillips Refinery at Sweeny, Texas in 1970. He was a Master Mason of Lodge #96, and a member of the International Order of Oddfellows. E.J. was a member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed driving, buying and selling cars and trucks and bowling. Survivors include his sons: Keith (Randy) Allford and wife, Donna of Oklahoma City, Johnny Allford and wife, Brenda of McAlester; daughters: Toni Wilson and husband, Greg of Arlington, Tennessee, Jana Vela and husband, Paul of Stillwater; grandchildren: DeWayne Allford and wife, Michael of Moore, Bethany Bell and husband, Gene of Seabrook, Texas, Summer Baker and husband, Brandon of McAlester, Patrick Allford and wife, Mandy of McAlester, Matthew Wilson and wife, Lauren of Arlington, Tennessee, Morgan Fitzgerald of Tulsa, Madison Fitzgerald of Norman, Conner Fitzgerald of Stillwater. Also, great-grandchildren: Dakota Allford, Cheyenne Allford, Tristan Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Mason Crawley, Miller Allford, Bryson Baker; uncle: Jim Allford and wife, June of Holdenville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Miller and Dorothy Allford; wife: Carol Allford on April 10, 1999; a sister: Karen Allford; brothers: Donnie Allford, Ronnie Allford; an infant brother; and a great-grandson: Christian Alexander Ward. Pallbearers will be Rudolph Hernandez, DeWayne Allford, Matthew Wilson, Patrick Allford, Conner Fitzgerald, Morgan Fitzgerald, John Riley, and Mark Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be J.A. Allford, Jim Allford, Larry Allford, Bobby Hickman, Buddy Thomas, Olen Free, Jack Toole, Homer Lusk, Rev. Don Parr, David Verner, Jimmy White, Roger White, and Greg Contreras.
