Paul Lawrence Meadows formerly of McAlester, Oklahoma died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Katy, Texas at the age of 77. Paul was born January 5, 1940 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Whitfield and Helen (Sexton) Meadows. Paul worked at Lockheed Martin, Rockwell and Boeing International where he worked on the space shuttle, F-15 jets and airliners. He retired from the Oklahoma National Guard in 1991 after 23 years of service. During his retirement, he enjoyed working with his cows, cutting wood and small engine repair. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Louise Factory Meadows of the home; children, Jerry Meadows of Houston, TX, Gary Meadows (Yuka) of El Paso, TX, Paula Meadows of the home, Paul Meadows, Jr. of McAlester and Reba Nichols of Tulsa; siblings, Wayne Meadows of California, Samuel Butler of McAlester, Larry McAlester (Cynthia) of McAlester, Lillian Butler Hawkins of Dallas, TX and Valerie Butler Alexander of Tulsa; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clifford Butler; sister, Wanda Meadows and son-in-law, Marcellus Nichols. The Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, 305 N. 2nd, McAlester, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Sexton Family Cemetery, Blocker Community, Oklahoma.
