Elizabeth "Liz" Wold, 78, of McAlester, passed away peacefully in McAlester on Sunday, January 21, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 31, 1945 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Ruben Calvin and Jessie Mae (Walker) Ballard. She graduated from Savanna High School in the Class of 1963. She married Lloyd L. Wold on April 26, 1969 in McAlester. She was a longtime employee and retired from the Pittsburg County Courthouse. She was an Avon Sales Representative for many years. She was a beloved mother and enjoyed being “MiMi” to her grandsons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in McAlester. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd L. Wold of McAlester, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Ryan Braswell of McAlester, OK; daughter, Shonda Wold of Moore, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Kendra Wold of Fort Smith, AR; three grandsons, Layne Braswell of Lawrence, KS, Connor Braswell of McAlester, OK and Wesley Wold of Fort Smith, AR; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Mae Ballard; father, Ruben Calvin Ballard; sister, Margaret Briggs; brothers, James Ballard, Merl Ballard and Don Ballard; special friends, Jake and Grace Brewster. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Rodney Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at Savanna Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eric Wold, Wesley Wold, Layne Braswell, Connor Braswell, Brandy Ballard, James Ballard and Roger Timmons. Special thanks to McAlester Nursing Center and Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion for Liz.
