Donna Sue (Ivey) Garner, 78 of Claremore died Monday, March 18, 2024 in Tulsa. The family will greet friends 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday March 24, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Savanna Cemetery Pavilion, Savanna, Oklahoma officiated by Tim Bryan. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be Andrew Bryan, Brian Franklin, Miles McColly, Micah Wallis, Nathan Ivey and Mike Thorpe. Honorary pallbearers will be, Troy Ivey, Larry Ivey and Ray Gerhardt. Donna was born to Milton E. and Gladys (Goss) Ivey on August 16, 1945 in Wardville, Oklahoma. She attended school at Pryor. She married John E. Garner in February of 1967 in McAlester Donna worked in various secretarial positions and was a homemaker. She was a kind and caring person; her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Donna was a committed Christian, and was active in the Pentecostal and Assemblies of God Churches that she had attended. She loved to minister to other people with her singing and accordion playing. She enjoyed caring for others whether it be the neighborhood kids, fellow church members or her mother; she was always there to brighten the lives of others. She will be missed but not forgotten. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Milton Ivey, Sr. and Gladys Ivey; husband, John E. Garner; an infant daughter, Brenda K. Garner; brothers, David Lee Ivey, Timothy Wayne Ivey and Milton Ivey, Jr. She is survived by daughters, Erica Dean of Claremore; LeQuita Gerhardt and husband, Ray of Chouteau; son, Johnnie Garner, Jr. and wife, Robin of Orange Park, Florida; four grandchildren, Eric Schutts, Zachery Schutts, Heaven Garner, Seth Pomykal; four great grandchildren, Violet Schutts, Gabriel Burton, Arabella Rosenbaum, Karter Rosenbaum; brothers, Troy Ivey and wife, Mary of Savanna, Larry Ivey of McAlester; sisters, Atha Jean Carco of Kingman, Arizona, Betty June Hawkins and Gene of Ft. Tobacco, Maryland, Lilly Seymore of Phoenix, Arizona, Carolyn Bryan and husband, Tim of McAlester, Twila McColly of Savanna; sister-in-law, Priscilla Ivey; numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
