Janice Gail (West) Platner, 69 of Indianola died Friday November 19, 2021 at her residence.
The family will greet friends and relatives 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Bishop Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. David Cantrell. Burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery, Stuart, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Luke Boling, Josh O'Dell, Stan Butler, Virgil Lott, Jakeb Parker and Zack Keel.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Indianola High School Baseball Team, Zayne Clark and Grant Vernor.
Janice Gail was born to Elmer and Brine Dell (Lott) West on July 29, 1952 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She graduated from Indianola High School in 1970 and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College and Southwestern State University at Weatherford. She worked as an accountant for the State of Oklahoma for 16 years. Janice then worked as a bank teller for First National Bank of McAlester for 13 years.
She was an active member of Scipio Baptist Church. She loved her fellow church members and would call and check on them daily.
She enjoyed painting, watching ballgames especially watching games in which her grandchildren were playing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Brine West; brother, Wilford West and a sister, Junel Conn.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Cami Boling and Jacky Parker of McAlester; grandchildren, Tatum Boling and fiancé, Zack Keel of Louisiana, Luke Boling, Isabel Boling, Lily Parker, Jakeb Parker all of McAlester; sisters, Nancy Sparks of McAlester and Carolyn Morris and husband, Joe of Arpelar; sister-in-law, Pam West of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Danny Conn of McAlester; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family members and friends
