Catherine Lee Halliburton, 86, of McAlester, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024 at her home, with her family at her side. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Wednesday, February 7, at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pryor Cemetery chapel in Stuart, with Pastor Brian Smith officiating. Catherine's grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Catherine Halliburton was born on June 14, 1937 near Stuart to Tom and Geneva (Howell) Johnson. She grew up in the Stuart area and graduated from Stuart High School in 1955. She was married to Earnest Halliburton for over 60 years, and they made their home in Stuart and McAlester area those years. Catherine worked in a local nursing home for over 25 years. She started out as a nurse's aide and quickly worked her way into the administration office as the office manager, until she retired. She attended the Northside Assembly of God Church. Catherine was strong on family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Catherine is survived by her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Samantha and David Robertson, and Wynona and Donnie Short; grandchildren, Cassie Lawson, Andy Halliburton, Jody Halliburton, Lacey Halliburton, William Robertson, and Jessie Robertson; step-grandchildren, Jeff Short and Justin Short; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Earnie Halliburton, and her 11 siblings.
