Minnie Marie (Black) Burns, 92, of Stuart, died April 30, 2022 in Stuart at her residence surrounded by her family. Viewing will be 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the Pryor Cemetery Chapel officiated by Rev. Clint Gray. Burial will follow at Pryor Cemetery near Stuart. Pallbearers will be Mark Schoggins, Howard Schoggins, John Burns, Terry Martin, Bob Harden, and Delbert Harden. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Black and Benny Schoggins. Minnie Marie was born to John Thomas and Minnie (Little) Black on February 15, 1930 in Stuart. She attended Stuart School. Marie married Lloyd Keith Burns on May 26, 1951 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Marie had worked at Seamprufe and for the Stuart Water Department but was mostly a homemaker. She loved bluegrass music and enjoyed playing the fiddle to her favorite tunes. She was a lifelong church goer and a member of the Pentecostal Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents: Tom and Minnie Black; husband: Keith Burns; sisters and spouses: Bertha Davis and husband, Frank, Nora Perdue and husband, Bud, Lula Mae Black, Doris Martin and husband, Eldred; brothers and spouses: George Black and wife, Marie, Vernon Black and wife, Mary; son-in-law: Roy Heskett; and daughter-in-law: Pam Burns. Marie is survived by her daughter: Lynda Heskett; son: Gary Burns; daughter: Donna Burns, all of Stuart; grandchildren: Kristal Schoggins and husband, Howard of Arpelar, Cody West and wife, Stephanie of McAlester, John Burns and wife, Olivia of New Orleans, Louisiana, Joy Pogue of Vinita; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
