William Zentner "Bill" Smith, 81 formerly of McAlester died Saturday May 4, 2024 in Tulsa surrounded by his loving family. The family will greet friends 6-8 Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Mr. Darrell Adcock. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery, Russellville, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be, Jimmy Masters, Roy Young, Kevin Masters, Ryan Gorbet, Hayden Young, Skylar Z. Young, II, William Gorbet and John Frisbie. Bill was born to Vernon Zentner and Martha Elizabeth (Lindeman) Smith on January 13, 1943 in Yakima, Washington. He graduated from Lecompton High School in Lecompton, Kansas. Bill earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the Air National Guard from 1960 to 1963. Bill married Regina Claudine Dellinger on February 7, 1964 in the Palestine Community. They were married for 47 years before her death on April 29, 2011. He worked as a truck driver for Union Iron Works (BEMAC) for several years, retiring in 1992. Bill enjoyed restoring old cars, especially, 1941 Fords. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Zentner Smith; mother Martha Elizabeth Tyre; wife, Regina C. “Granny” Smith; grandson, Skylar Z. Young, I; brother, Louis Loy Smith, Sr.; sisters, Ruby R. McGonigle, Nova B. Hott, Wilma L. Daugherty Bill is survived by his daughters, Patty Masters and husband, Jimmy of Eufaula; Tammie Kolker of Tulsa, Elva Irene Young and husband, Roy of McAlester; grandchildren, Miranda Masters, Nicole Gorbet and husband, Ryan, Kevin Masters; great grandchildren, Hayden Young, Skylar Z. Young, II, William Gorbet and Claudia Gorbet; sisters-in-law, Ellen M. Smith, Becky Robertson and husband, Darrell; special friends, Jack and Loretta Ormsby, Dean and Betty Boatner, Janell Smith, Mike Musick; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends
